Happy Holidays Everyone!

WOW!  The Holidays are almost upon us—that happened quickly! And what a year… SO many twists and turns in the tale of our battle to protect this beautiful, rich Westernport environment from the harm of irresponsible and unnecessary development. It’s head spinning, and you definitely know you’re alive!

Thankyou to everyone who joined us on Sunday Dec 16 to celebrate the close of a big year defined by the cooperative achievements of Save Westernport and our No AGL Campaign. We enjoyed a glorious afternoon by Crib Point jetty at the beautiful Woolleys Beach reserve, the site that needs our urgent protection.

Our progress this year has exceeded expectations, with the EES announcement in October representing a big win for Save Westernport and everyone who opposes the gas import plan and pipeline. The Environmental Effects Statement will extend and delay the project’s timeline, and give us the chance to continue increasing awareness and strengthening the growing opposition to these damaging, and frankly absurd plans for our bay.

Your support has been invaluable in every way—writing letters and contacting AGL and relevant government bodies, being involved with our website and social media, creating videos, sending photos, helping with podcasts, and many other actions. You are helping in this important cause to protect Westernport Bay and its special ecology, now and into the future.

Our continued involement is needed with the EES. To find out how make sure your comments are effective, we have a new article with an example of how to about Scoping Requirements here on our website.

We know what a difference the public opposition to the proposal has made so far, and we encourage everyone concerned by these ongoing threats to the bay to keep up the pressure and stay engaged.

Your involvement also provides the core group, which pushes on week-in-and-week-out, much needed support and courage to keep going. We feel the love—and for this we thank you heaps!

Seasons Greetings to everyone, we wish you happy and safe holiday times. Onward and upward in 2019!
